Whatever make of motorbike, scooter or ATV, we have the pads.

Brake Pad Installation Instructions
• Verify the correct selection of the brake pads at the dealer‘s in accordance with the bike type and manufacturing year of your bike.
• Replace the brake pads as soon as the braking surface thickness has dropped below 2 mm.
• Protect the brake pad surfaces against grease, oil and other chemical substances.
• Clean and degrease the brake wheels prior to installation of new brake pads.
• Replace damaged brake wheels reducing the braking effect and, at the same time, shortening the lifetime of the brake pads.
• Install the brake pads directing their braking surfaces towards the brake wheel. Having completed the installation, check correct mounting and securing of the pads.
• Entrust a specialized servicing shop with the installation of brake pads when lacking experience.

Running-In New Brake Pads
The correct way of running-in newly installed brake pads is the prerequisite for their long lifetime and for a reliable braking effect of the bike brakes. If possible, do not provide your motorbike with new brake wheels during running-in new brake pads.
Cleaning of the brake wheels using abrasive paper is recommended in case of their previous use with another lining material. After the installation of the brake pads, their fitting must be free and without excessive clamping in the brake mount.
Having revved up your bike, brake several times at lower speeds to achieve a contact surface of 80 to 90 per cent of the total area of the active brake pad surface between the brake wheel and the pads. Then brake the bike several times at higher speeds and allow the brake pad lining to get cooled while driving. After this running-in procedure, the brake pads may be normally used.

GG or HH Brake Pads?
Brakes work on the principle of friction between two surfaces. To give a uniform measure of the frictional characteristics of a Brake Pad the SAEJ866A test procedure is used to give a two character code e.g EE FF GG HH.

Double HH Brake Pads
These brake pads have the highest coefficient of Friction and are ideal for high performance motorcycles and race track use. Some modern performance motorcycles specify HH as standard. HH Pads can sometimes prove grabby, scary in the wet and ineffective in every day use when they fail to reach a good operating temperature.

Sinter, metal-ceramic friction materials are manufactured with the help of a modern method of powder metallurgy under the Goldfren mark. Proved manufacturing technology and essential quality control system ensure reaching required material properties, namely high thermal and mechanical endurance and are applied in various industrial branches, for example, car industry, engineering equipment, construction machines, aviation industry and sport purposes.
Sinter materials are characterised by high and permanent friction coefficient at temperatures up to 800 ° C, and thermal stability with minimum abrasion. Materials do not contain asbestos, glass fibre or formaldehydes, and are environmentally friendly. They can be used in dry oil bath. In comparison with organic friction
materials, their service life is several times longer.

Organic GG Brake Pads
This brake pads are a great all rounder and will perform well in most conditions. GG are softer than HH pads and bed in quicker on worn discs.

Mixing HH and GG Brake Pads
Many manufacturer specify HH for the front of performance motorcycles with GG in the rear. This is because GG pads can give you more feel and control of the back brake. It is not considered safe to use HH in the rear with GG pads in the front.

Obviously Pads are only as good as the condition of the whole braking system. When first used brake pads can sometimes give poor braking as residual moisture from manufacture process works its way out and the pads bed in. It is best to bed in pads with gentle use and very heavy initial use can result in glazing, a condition where the resins in the pad crystallize with resulting poor performance and squeal.
